Photoshop

I downloaded GIMP today. I thought it would be nice to play around and maybe learn a few things. So I decided might as well attempt to make a cover for the story I just finished. Holy Headache Batman. I know a few more things then I did several hours ago, but I am still no where near completing ANYTHING. I'm still working on it... but for the moment...

Writing

Writing has always been a scary thing for me. I do okay with technical writing because all I have to do is research and get it on the page. However, fiction is a whole different bag of tricks. The possibilities are endless. I can write about flying hippos or a clumsy penguin.I think that is what has kept me from taking the leap for so long. My imagination comes in spurts. Sometimes I am really creative and at others I'm not. I never thought I would be able to write a whole fully developed story. BUT I CAN. I just finished my first and it was almost 15k!

Several months ago someone gave me a story idea. It was a game we were playing in book club. I had NO INTENTION of writing for this game. The idea was wonderful though. It just spoke to me and since then I have not been able to turn the muse off. That idea spiraled to the point that I think I have enough ideas and material to expand it into a series. So I have a new title... I'm a writer. Maybe one day an author.
